Believe and Soar!

Dumbo The Flying Elephant is one of the classic attractions that has become a staple and fan favorite at Walt Disney World. Dumbo has been with the Magic Kingdom since the very beginning. This attraction was up and running on the first day the Magic Kingdom welcomed guests in 1971.

This attraction allows riders to soar with none other than Dumbo himself. Adults and kids of all ages can enjoy this gentle ride that allows you to decide whether Dumbo goes up or down as he flies.

Imagineers added a fantastic play area for kids while they wait to ride Dumbo. The interactive queue at Dumbo is one of the best on property!  When guests first enter the queue, they are provided with a pager that resembles a Circus ticket! While guests wait for their pager to go off alerting them that it’s their turn to ride, adults can sit and hopefully relax a bit inside the air conditioned playground while children play under the big top of the circus tent.

When leaving Dumbo, there is a fun little photo opportunity where you can sit inside a Dumbo ride vehicle.

As you exit the attraction area, you will see a sign that says, “Believe and Soar.” It’s honestly my favorite part of the whole area and usually makes me tear up because it makes me think about my kids future.

One of my favorite Dumbo memories is from the first time we took Annie Rice to WDW. She loved flying high in the sky. We rode Dumbo at least 5 times that trip, rotating between Kaz and I on who rode with her, while the other one took pictures. I still remember her smile and giggles as we flew high in the air!

Dumbo is a special ride and one you can’t miss when at Magic Kingdom, no matter your age!
